Back Story:

Random Status is hosting this "Special Friends" event with Michele "shell" Luccketta.

Doc Mompean has been very close friends with "shell" for over 25 years. He is a phenomenal guitarist. When his son Joshua was born with cystic fibrosis, he spent most of his time in the hospital, praying and playing his guitar. He loved to listen to Phil Keaggy, which brought him peace and a spiritual healing. He wrote a wonderful song for his son called “Joshua’s Song” while waiting to bring his son home. That was nearly 26 years ago. Joshua has both his father and Phil Keaggy on his I-pod. He is brought comfort and strength through the music of these amazing guitarists.

Atomik Tommy an incredible guitarist who toured with UFO and many other bands through the years, taught guitar lessons to Doc when Joshua was young and they became good friends. He has offered his incredible talents to this show also and is someone you will not want to miss!

Troy Luccketta will be flying in for this event in between gigs with the rock band Tesla (whom he has been a drummer for more than 25 years!) He met Joshua years ago at his brother Tracy Luccketta's house and took an immediate liking to him. They have become dear friends throughout the years and Troy was excited to be part of this benefit for Josh.

Tracy Luccketta is a phenomenal songwriter/singer and musician. His heart for helping others is unmatched.

We are all coming together as “Special Friends.” Please check out Phil’s recording of this wonderful song. We will be recording the song as an “All Star Ensemble” and it will be available sometime after the show.

We are selling tickets, selling advertising space, raffling prizes (guitar and music related,) having promotional giveaways through radio and television, utilizing numerous PSAs. Your donation of money, time or gift would be greatly appreciated.

Purpose: To raise funds and awareness for COTA to help defray double lung transplant costs for Joshua Mompean. (I Support Joshua Mompean on Facebook) Josh just went through a double lung transplant at Stanford hospital. Teamed up with COTA, we are trying to raise money to help defray the astronomical costs.
